The 1992-93 NHL season was a defining year for Joe Sakic, proving to be career and franchise-changing. Before the season started, he was named captain of the Quebec Nordiques, a title he would hold for the remaining 16 years of his career. Sakic responded in the best way possible by turning in a 105-point season, which was instrumental in leading the Nordiques to the playoffs for the first time in his career. This began a run that saw him make the playoffs in 13 of those 16 years with Quebec and Colorado. With two Stanley Cup championships and a Hart Memorial Trophy, among other accomplishments, the decision to make Sakic captain proved to be an impactful decision for many years.
This Quebec Nordiques 1992 Home CCM Throwback jersey is autographed by Joe Sakic with a silver paint pen. Sakic’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
